I am a 5th year PhD student at Bloombergs distinguished professor Yannis Kevrekidis’ lab in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department at Johns Hopkins University. I have completed my undergraduate studies also in Chemical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens in Greece.

I chose to focus my research on the scientific area of machine learning/data mining for modeling complex (dynamical) systems. During my PhD thesis I use tools of data science and machine learning to explore new approaches that can revolutionize the way we have been considering modeling. More precisely, through the utilization of machine learning algorithms latent-reduced variables and effective parameters can be discovered. On those machine learning variables dynamical models for ordinary, partial and stochastic differential equations can be written and those effective machine learning parameters can be used to disentangle the combinations of inputs that affect the output.

I have a strong thirst to learn as much as possible regarding the wide range of data science and machine learning in today's world. I strongly believe that this technology if directed correctly, can transform the world into a better place.
